Healthcare Data Analyst

HWT Inc., (www.hwtc.com) is a successful, high-growth healthcare technology & services company, helping large public sector payers to implement revenue recovery programs, conduct data-intensive audits and perform high ROI specialty data analytics.

We are seeking a highly motivated, organized and professional Healthcare Data Analyst for full-time employment in our Portland, Maine office. The Healthcare Data Analyst is responsible for fielding calls from health care providers across the country and assisting our staff with their understanding of claims and reimbursement policies.

The Healthcare Data Analyst will also assist with preparation of reports and letters and will work with the HWT Drug Rebate team with a focus on completion of various project activities. Additional responsibilities may include providing communications and issues management support for the rollout of new technology to the provider community and our clients.

Experience and demonstrated competency is expected in the following:

• Strong understanding of health care payment systems and reimbursement guidelines, especially publicly funded payment sources such as Medicaid and Medicare.
• Basic understanding of medical and diagnosis coding practices, including CPT, HCPCS and ICD-9
• High proficiency in MS Office applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional ability to collaborate in a team environment, while being personally accountable for individual results
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
• A strong desire and ability to grow professionally
• Bachelor's Degree in a business or healthcare related field, with proven academic success
• Minimum of two+ years experience working in a professional environment, clinical, facility, insurance or related healthcare business experience preferred.
