Oracle Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly motivated, organized and professionally oriented person for an experienced Oracle database administrator position based in our Chicago, IL location.

This position is primarily responsible for:

• Implementing, administrating and maintaining large-scale data warehouses using Oracle versions 9i and 10g
• Using expertise in coding, administrating, monitoring and tuning database objects for optimal performance
• Supporting a wide variety of data mining, analysis and web-based product development activities which all interface with the company’s data warehouses.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience and be required to demonstrate competency in one or more of the following:

• A minimum of seven years work experience in administering Oracle 9i and 10g data warehouses on Sun Solaris systems
• Thorough knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager; Recovery Manager; backup and recovery processes and technologies
• Excellent ETL skills (especially SQL Loader skills), PL/SQL skills, and ability to run ad-hoc queries in distributed database environment
• Solving performance issues in large-scale systems, especially within ad-hoc environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional ability to collaborate in a team environment, while being personally accountable for individual results
• BS/BA in computer science, mathematics, programming or related field
• A strong desire and ability to grow professionally
